On 1 June 2021, the Berlin Senate agreed on the following changes to the Infection Protection Measures Ordinance, among others. This new ordinance will apply from Wednesday, 4 June 2021:

Berlin’s retail trade, which includes art galleries, is allowed to open without a test requirement. Also Cinemas, theatres, opera houses and concert halls etc. are allowed to reopen. The associated rules are: Outdoor events up to 500 persons (from 250 persons generally compulsory testing, below that depending on the hygiene concept). Events in closed rooms up to 100 persons (testing obligatory from 11 persons). Exceptions with more persons possible with mechanical ventilation and according to the hygiene framework concept for culture as well as for pilot projects. Tourist overnight stays are possible from 11.06.2021, here the testing obligation still applies. The testing obligation does not apply to outdoor catering. In indoor catering, the obligation to make reservations and limit to the number of people still applies.
