NEWS: SUNDOWNER-BAR on the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie | 24.06.-27.08.2022

Every Friday and Saturday from June 24th to August 27th from 6 to 10 pm, the bar “MIES-liwska”, designed by the artist Karsten Konrad, opens on the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie for all visitors and offers drinks and music.

The sculptural bar created especially for the museum’s terrace is based on architectural designs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. It refers directly to the architecture of the Neue Nationalgalerie with its black and white colour concept and references to the iconic roof construction. The name of the bar “MIES-liwska” is a reference to the “Mysliwska” bar run by Karsten Konrad and Hannes Gruber, which has existed in Kreuzberg for over 30 years in close connection with Berlin’s art academies.

The exhibition by Barbara Kruger “Please laugh, Please cry” (until August the 27th 2022) is open to the public during the special Sundowner evenings extended opening hours from 6pm to 2pm…
