The dance classic Travelogue I – Twenty to eight by Sasha Waltz is celebrating its revival at the Sophiensæle. The piece from 1993 will be shown from 27 February to 2 March 2025. Further performances will take place at the Radialsystem from 3 to 6 April 2025. With Travelogue I – Twenty to eight, Sasha Waltz founded the dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests together with Jochen Sandig in 1993. Waltz and Sandig were among the co-founders of Sophiensæle in 1996.

After a seven-year break, Travelogue I – Twenty to eight is being revived at the Sophiensæle with a new dance cast. This revival is also a return to the beginning: one year after Sasha Waltz came to Berlin at the invitation of Künstlerhaus Bethanien, the choreographer founded the dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests together with Jochen Sandig in 1993 – with Travelogue I – Twenty to eight. The piece is the prelude to the Travelogue trilogy, which is created in the following years and establishes the company’s success.
