Since June 2021, KW Institute for Contemporary Art has been inviting over 15.000 visitors to the exhibitions free of charge during special extended opening hours on Thursdays from 6–9 pm. Due to the cuts made by the Berlin Senate for the 2025/2026 budget, this offer can unfortunately not be maintained in future.
The initiative, which aims to promote democratic cultural participation, welcomed over 6.000 visitors on 32 Thursdays in 2024 alone.
