The HAU Hebbel am Ufer is kicking off its 2026/27 season as part of Berlin Art Week with two world premieres by female artists from Berlin.

The artist Sophia Süßmilch is developing the in-house production “Something Terrible Will Happen: The Cannibal Woman” for the HAU (premiere: 12 September, further performances on 13, 15 and 16 September, HAU1). The performance explores female anger and repressed emotions. Through an interdisciplinary fusion of dance, drama and music, Süßmilch creates a visually striking world that blends the absurd, the grotesque, clown-like aesthetics and musical elements.
