HEAVEN | Group exhibition | Galerie 36 | 09.09.-17.12.2016

until 17.12. | #0699ARTatBerlin | The Galerie 36 presents from the 9th September 2016 the group exhibition HEAVEN.

The exhibition presents over 100 works by the artist collective HEAVEN. Eleven photographers from different generations take the viewer on a journey through the world: Patrick Alphonse, Pavel Chirkin, Sébran d’Argent, François Dupuy, Jürgen Heinemann, Siu-Ling Ha, Dalia Karg, Xavier Maurel, Némorin and Georges Saillard.

From snow-covered Russia to the urban life of Egypt and the savannah of Africa to the mountain plains of Tibet – the photographers of the artist collective HEAVEN share a passion for travelling to distant countries. Atmospheric pictorial spaces reveal landscapes, different ways of life and dreamy, veiled people. Beyond well-known visual conceptions, the diverse and motif-rich photographs hold the open, calm view of the voyageur. HEAVEN is a return to untouched nature, an encounter with foreign cultures as well as a look inside.

All artists work exclusively in the field of analogue photography in deliberate contrast to today’s flood of digital images. Their photographs are an homage to traditional artistic techniques such as photogravure. HEAVEN is both the first group exhibition of these artists and for some photographers the first public presentation of their works.

Vernissage: Thursday, 8th September 2016, 06:00 p.m.

Exhibition period: Friday, 9th September to Saturday, 17th December 2016
