until 21.04. | #1945ARTatBerlin | EIGEN + ART Lab shows since 8th April 2018 the online exhibition sunny side up by the artist Andy Kassier. The exhibition can only be seen on Instagram via the profile @eigenart_lab.
“sunny side up “is the first online solo show by @AndyKassier Authenticity is widely believed to be the strength of social media, Instagram, where everyone can be themselves, and that’s not what every teenage teenager in America has become staged, online is possible, which can be impossible offline.
Artist Andy Kassier says, “The Porsche on the road may not be mine, so if I’m going to take a picture and share it on Instagram, it’s my Porsche.” Andy Kassier takes on the role of the rich self-made man in social media and adapts how successful men are on the internet. “It’s not about ownership, it’s about options,” he explains. “What is possible without taking money in hand?”
He shows this and wants to criticize the success and coldness of the meritocracy. And it leads like @AmaliaUlman: Everyone is online a liar.

Andy Kassier is a visual concept artist. His oeuvre includes self-portraits, sculptures, and installations in which he discusses issues of wealth, success, and the associated self-expression of our time. His first solo exhibition, the science of happiness, took place in 2016 in the Ruttkowski; 68 Gallery in Cologne. His work has been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery, London; Roehrs & Boetsch, Zurich; Art Museum Celle, Celle; New Aachener Kunstverein, Aachen, as well as during the online biennale The Wrong.

The online exhibition, developed by the EIGEN + ART Lab together with Anika Meier, marks the beginning of the series “Post-Exhibition”.
