until 22.04. | #1120ARTatBerlin | Podbielski Contemporary shows from 04th March 2017 the exhibition “Vestiges d´Empire” by the artist Thomas Jorion.

For his second exhibition at our gallery after Timeless Islands in 2013, we are proud to present Thomas Jorion’s new body of works!

The photographs Vestiges d’Empire remind us a forgotten chapter of France’s long lasting colonial history. When along with other powerful countries, it ruled the world. In times when we were easily fascinated and seduced by the pastel colours of decrepit walls, the elapsed architectural elegance and the old fashion atmosphere which evoked exotic speeches and adventurous and epic expeditions.

For Vestiges d’Empire, the photographer spent several years travelling around the world, from Algeria and Morocco to Louisiana, the Caribbean Islands, India, Vietnam and Cambodia intending to truthfully portray the remaining traces and ruins of the ancient French colonial empire.

Thomas Jorion will be present during the Opening and pleased to sign a copy of his
book Vestiges d’Empire for you!

Vernissage: Friday, 03rd March 2017 from 07:00 p.m.

Exhibitionperiod: Saturday, 04th March – Saturday, 22nd April 2017
