until 01.07. | #1242ARTatBerlin | Salongalerie Die Möwe presents from 29th April 2017 the group exhibition “SommerAnsichten”.
On the occasion of this year’s Gallery Weekends in Berlin, the Salongalerie “Die Möwe” opens their exhibition “SummerViews” on 29 April. Until 1 July, the presentation shows views of the most beautiful months of the year, as seen by about 15 artists. Colours, light, and lifestyle inspired them to create paintings of an abundance of motifs.
Works by Werner Scholz, Marie-Luise Heller and Hanspeter Münch are shown in “Die Möwe” for a first time.
Like Max Beckmann, Otto Dix and George Grosz, Werner Scholz (1898 – 1982) belongs to the second generation of German Expressionism. In our exhibition, oil paintings and pastel drawings give insights into his remarkable later work which, as compared with the years before 1945, presents itself in brighter and more intense colours.
Marie-Luise Heller (1918 – 2009), a major representative of post-war Modern Art, found the way to Informel via representational and abstract compositions. In addition to works in tempera and oil in the 1950s and 60s, one of her remarkable Perspex objects is also shown.
With his large-format acrylic paintings, Hanspeter Münch (*1940) strikes quite a different tune. The painter’s interest focuses on colour ranges and the dynamics of their transitions. By means of colour layers and very fine glazings – in some cases up to 60 overlays – the artist creates volume and space.
Summer impressions are also found in the works by Werner Tübke, Ulrich Neujahr, Fritz Schaefler, Siegward Sprotte and Max Kaus.
Vernissage: Saturday, 29th April 2017, 4 to 7 p.m.
Regina Schulte am Hülse, Theo Jörgensmann, Nikolaus Neuser and Bernd Oezsevim from Ensemble Abhörstation will start the vernissage with a musical performance.
Exhibition period: Saturday, 29th April to Saturday, 1st July 2017
Finissage: Wednesday, 28th June 2017, 6 p.m.. With Hanspeter Münch.
