until 26.06. | #3054ARTatBerlin | Galerie mutare shows from 19th May 2021 paintings by the artist Ruthi Helbitz Cohen in the exhibition series Platons Höhle | Plato‘s Cave | La Caverne de Platon | La Caverna de Platón, a gallery project with several artists of the gallery.

As part of the exhibition, there will be a portrait event with Ruthi Helbitz Cohen on 29 May 2021 from noon to 5pm, in which the artist will paint female portraits – due to the current situation in Israel via video link to the gallery. If you are interested, please ask for the exposé of the mutare gallery on this event. Half of the sales proceeds from this portrait campaign will be donated by the gallery and artist to the “Lebenskultur-Verein für Teilhabe e.V.”, which enables older people with lower incomes to visit cultural events.

Ruthi Helbitz Cohen was born in Israel in 1969. From 1989 until 1991 she studied art and psychology at the University of Haifa. From 1992 until 1998 she completed her artistic training at the Hamidrasha School of Art of the Beit Berl College in Kfar Saba and at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. From 2008 until 2010 she studied at the Oranim Academic College in Tiw‘on with the MFA degree. Since 1994 her works are shown in single and group exhibitions especially in Israel and Europe. In 2012 she had a solo show at the Beelden aan Zee Museum for sculpture in La Hague. In 2019 her individual presentation „Beloved“ in the Open Museum of the Industrial Park Tefen (Israel) was highly respected. The gallery Mutare represents Cohen since 2019. The artist several times awarded lives in Ein Vedred near Tel Aviv.
