Kollektion Kollektiv or … | Group Show | EIGENHEIM Berlin | 22.01.–27.02.2021

until 27.02. | #2949ARTatBerlin | EIGENHEIM Berlin shows from 22nd January 2021 the group show Kollektion Kollektiv or: on a night visit to friends with painting, drawing, photography, video, object and installation.

For many years, the house artists of EIGENHEIM Weimar/Berlin have formed a close community. Similar to a collective, they develop ideas, discuss new individual artistic tendencies, plan exhibitions, organise excursions and fairs – they think, work, celebrate and laugh together. Especially in times of social distancing or lookdown, such an ideal and institutional community is indispensable.

In this exhibition, new works are presented – sketchy one project – far advanced the other. In this exhibition, we are giving rise to a momentary analysis and the opportunity to discuss the situation. In the course of the exhibition, we will therefore talk to each of the artists online about their work on show, hold online meetings with the artist community and face the public in the digital space. So it remains exciting because, loosely based on the title of Rao Fu’s exhibition motif (Night Visit), we are coming to visit you.

At the gallery as an institution, whether in Weimar, Berlin or in the many external projects, a collaborative practice is also part of what we do in such times. We have been working with many project partners for a long time, be it the Bauhaus University Weimar, the Goethe-Institut, the Kulturstiftung Thüringen or the many other partners for whom we are network nodes or supporters in many projects. If we also understand the interaction between the institutions as an ideal community, we are a part of the whole, a link in a chain, similar to a collective. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners and supporters for this.
