until 26.02. | #3268ARTatBerlin | Galerie mutare presents from 17th December 2021 an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by the artist Filip Kalkowski.

The painter and video artist Filip Kalkowski was born in Danzig (Gdańsk) in Poland in 1979. From 2000 until 2006 he studied graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts Danzig with diploma under Witosław Czerwonka. In 2009 he was co-founder of the artists‘ group „Free Trade Union“ (Wolny Związek Zawodowy) and of the studio gallery KIT in the Baltic resort Zoppot (Sopot). In 2012 he got the scholarship „Fund for Mobility“ of the city Danzig, in 2012 and 2017 a scholarship of the city Zoppot. In 2014 he was artist-in-residence of the Fresh Eggs Gallery Berlin, in 2015 scholarship holder of the Polish administrative district (Woiwodschaft) Pomerania. Kalkowski‘s works are in international private collections and were shown on group and solo exhibitions, amongst others in Germany, Poland and in the Ukraine. Since 2019 the gallery Mutare has the German sole agency of the artist who is active in Berlin and Zoppot.
