until 19.11.| #3679ARTatBerlin | Laura Mars Gallery presents from 22. October 2022 (Vernissage: 21.10.) the exhibition Exit Orlando by the artist Vitek Marcinkiewicz.
Vitek Marcinkiewicz is known for his virtuoso pencil and ballpoint-pen drawings, which are thoroughly composed and meticulous, yet proliferating and uninhibited, and as subtle as they are obsessive. When they depict imaginary landscapes, for example, the drawings evoke the thicket of the unconscious and at the same time explore the drawing process itself – pulling the viewer into the scene, where further, hidden motifs emerge, which only gradually, and often only rudimentarily, reveal themselves.
In EXIT ORLANDO*, his current exhibition, Marcinkiewicz embarks on a visual journey into interstellar realms: between stardust, nebulae, and molecular clouds, out of the undergrowth of the universe, as it were, fantastic dream images hatched in light effects emerge.
But we do not want to jump ahead here … Only this much: An intricate cosmic trip into mysteriously entangled realms of hiding and showing awaits you.
*Not far from Orlando, Florida, the Kennedy Space Center, NASA’s spaceport, is situated.
