Bondage refers to practices of tying up or restricting the body’s freedom of movement in BDSM. The term comes from English and means, among other things, “unfreedom” or “servitude”. Bondage – figurines – as an artistic examination of the boundary between control and devotion. The exhibition does not explore the technical practice of bondage, but rather the complex experience of the body in the area of ​​tension between security, pain and release. It’s about the perception of one’s own body in changing life situations: elevated by adrenaline and risk, calmed by trust, challenged by boundaries and clear saying no. The works invite you to consider the subtle coherence of power, consent and self-determination – beyond clichés and pigeonholes.

How does the experience of the body change when boundaries are pushed or tested?
What role does consent, communication and safety play in the process of building and releasing tension?
Which forms of devotion, trust and autonomy can be made visible without becoming voyeuristic?
How can the adrenaline rush be artistically represented as an accelerated perception of self and surroundings?

Exhibition format:

Installations that enable physical resonance to be experienced through materials, spatial design and light, without reproducing intimate details.
Accompanying texts and context cards that clarify concepts such as consent, safety, responsibility and personal borderline experiences.
Conversations, performances or workshops with a focus on self-reflection, safety and respectful interaction.
Aim of the exhibition: A space that invites reflection: How do people experience extreme situations? What meanings are attributed to bodies, touches and boundaries? What form of trust arises when one voluntarily ventures into borderline areas – and how can art responsibly make these tensions visible?

An artistic examination of power, devotion and self-determination. The exhibition explores the tension between control, security and trust – beyond clichés – and relates adrenaline, borderline experiences and the perception of one’s own body.
