until 09.09. | #2141ARTatBerlin | Galerie Verein Berliner Künstler (VBK) has been showing the Group Exhibition AKTionale III – The Nude Being 2018 with 37 artists since 18th August 2018.
From 18 August to 9 September 2018, the Galerie Verein Berliner Künstler presents the third edition of the exhibition format AKTionale, Das Nackte Sein. Every four years, the window opens with the individual artistic positions on topics such as pain, love, hate and hope, death, birth, beauty, war, flight. Themes – which capture our reality today and now and stand in the foreground of the exhibition. This time, 37 artists – 22 VBK – and 15 international guest artists offer insight into their intimate and personal engagement with themselves, the world and the art in their individual artistic expression to make the spoken or unspeakable experience. In addition, the curators attempt to create the exhibition through the conceptual presentation into a total work of art in which they place the positions in a dialogue, without neglecting the autonomy of the individual.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a detailed catalog.

Originating from the former nude drawing in the Verein Berliner Künstler, the “AKTionale III Das Nackte Sein” is a conceptual development that leaves a formal nude drawing. Rather, emotional states such as being at risk, vulnerability, birth and death, love and happiness, fanaticism, beauty, insanity, sadness, lust, flight, hope, murder and war, etc. illuminated by the invited artists and shown in all its facets. The presented positions are evidence of an intimate and personal engagement with oneself, the world and art.
If one considers the word AKTionale, one quickly associates the thought with the artist who has come into action, who communicates with the outside world through the expressive function of the work, which points to his inner being. The physical work in connection with emotional perceptions provokes a tremendous energy, which in individual form of expression makes what is said or what is unspeakable tangible. In many ways, these artistic positions are often stronger than political statements, because the sensitive perception capabilities of the artists have a thinking that may go beyond the usual framework, make contradictions and processes visible in society, perhaps offer no solutions, yet It shows ways and opens up new spaces of experience.This presupposes, however, that the viewer provides a degree of relativism that allows him to question many of his views and enter into that dialogue, or to discover the dialogue itself between the contents in the image.
Especially nowadays, when many changes are worrying and our own identity, whether personal, emotional, political or cultural, faces constant challenges, it is important to maintain the greatest openness that enables us to engage in dialogue to subject them to constant trials without, however, casting doubt on the essence of the non-negotiable principles that give the individual certain fundamental rights. For above all this stands the cultural identity that creates a democratic world view, a vita worth living, for which it is sometimes worthwhile to rise to protect these values, which are the same for all and of the highest order.
Considering this aspect, the idea of the exhibition “AKTionale III Das Nackte Sein” is to emphasize the diversity of the exhibiting artists, whose diversity, whether personal, religious, national or political worlds of experience, creates important impulses through their current positions to allow an encounter with the other person or the viewer on many different levels and to provide a starting point for a common critical discussion by means of art.
At the same time, this format is an UPDATE of our being in the now – a window that opens every four years, destroying or recreating the states of nudity and vulnerability of existence, borderline experiences, drastic, seminal events that affect the current way of life, makes visible and provides the proof in its dramaturgy of the path from birth to death for the equality of all humans.
Therefore, the format “AKTionale III Das Nackte Sein”, which allows the viewer to gain insight into critical employment, not only with art, but also with that of the artist with himself and the world, is becoming increasingly important.
