NEWS ++ Before The Wind. The last song of the siren – Diözesanmuseum Paderborn | 28.03.-21.09.2025

Light breezes, fast gusts, roaring storms – from 28. March 2025, the new exhibition at the Diözesanmuseum Paderborn will be all about the wind. Centuries-old works of art from the museum’s collection will be combined with contemporary art: sculptures, videos, music and sound stations by the artist duo Baumann-Brieske (Bern/Berlin) will bring the natural phenomenon with its timeless cycles of becoming and passing to life in the exhibition. Whether as a natural resource or a threat, warm or icy, beneficial or annoying – wind is becoming increasingly important in today’s society.

“Before The Wind”, curated by Christiane Ruhmann, is both an exhibition and a multi-layered performance. A large audiovisual production by the artists in September (20.9/21.9.2025) is a highlight of the programme – with live video, voice, live electronics and choir, specially conceived for the special architecture of the Diözesanmuseum Paderborn with its ascending …
