NEWS ++ 5-5-5-5 cut. Space-sound intervention by Raimund Kummer + Daniel Ott – Akademie der Künste am Pariser Platz | 10.04.-14.05.2025

Sculptor Raimund Kummer and composer Daniel Ott present their project ‘5-5-5-5 cut’ conceived for Pariser Platz. Following the dialogue between Luc Tuymans and Edith Clever in autumn 2023, this is the second edition of the Akademie der Künste’s exhibition series in which two academy members from different artistic disciplines come together to develop a joint project.

The basic spatial idea of the intervention in the 5 historical exhibition rooms at Pariser Platz is the establishment of a central axis that cuts through all the rooms – cut. Up to 5 instrumentalists will move along this cut axis, which Raimund Kummer has vividly recorded with 5 fragments of his work, for at least 5 hours a day, performing a site-specific composition by Daniel Ott live over 5 weeks.
