From May 2012 to March 2018, these premises were home to the district’s municipal gallery, Galerie M. This municipal gallery is now in Schloss Biesdorf.
The new KUNSTinitiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf, which has developed into a diverse and dedicated group, is using the “Projektraum Galerie M” at Marzahner Promenade 46 for an art project in the form of a vibrant studio, exhibition and workshop space.
Since April 2018, artists from the Neue Kunst Initiative Marzahn-Hellersdorf (NKI), together with national and international guests, have regularly activated Projektraum Galerie M on Marzahner Promenade. With more than 30 exhibitions and over 50 events, Galerie M has established itself as a self-organised platform for contemporary art, participation and cultural exchange in the district. Galerie M is located in the pedestrian zone; admission is free and the venue is barrier-free.
