Hans-Peter Klie & Andreas Schmid – SCOTTY Berlin

On Friday, 5 September 2025, the project space SCOTTY opens the exhibition “OSZILLATIONEN – between order and chaos” by Hans-Peter Klie and Andreas Schmid. Through video works, photographs and spatial drawings, the two artists address the principles of order and chaos and illustrate their interplay in artistic form.

In contrast to many Western traditions, where chaos and order are seen as opposites, Far Eastern philosophies tend to dissolve this polarity into a larger whole. While modern chaos theory, from a scientific perspective, defines the boundaries of determinism internally, Far Eastern philosophy offers a holistic framework in which chaos and order can be understood as complementary aspects of …
