Gallery Weekend 2021 | 30.04.-02.05.2021

The Gallery Weekend Berlin will take place from 30 April to 2 May 2021. Emerging artists such as Anna Uddenberg, Leda Bourgogne, Andrea Fourchy, Kayode Ojo, and established positions such as Julie Mehretu, Cathy Wilkes, Monika Sosnowska, Albert Oehlen, Christian Boltanski, Pae White and George Condo are taking part. This major art event, which has international appeal for Berlin, officially involves 54 Berlin galleries.

Physical visits to the galleries are possible despite the pandemic situation! The currently obligatory registrations to visit the 54 participating Gallery Weekend galleries can be made HERE in an overview list. In addition, all exhibitions and artists will be presented on the respective gallery pages of the Gallery Weekend website. The exhibitions will be accompanied by a film on Instagram and can be seen there from 1 May. Gallery Weekend Live Tours will take you through all the galleries on 1 May and 2 May; participation is possible without pre-registration. You can find the programme and links HERE.

Numerous other Berlin galleries that take the Gallery Weekend as an opportunity to present their most interesting artistic positions during this period and are very happy to welcome you, provide information about the registration modalities on their respective in-house websites.

The length of the bookable time slots for a gallery visit can vary depending on the gallery, but on average they are 15 minutes long. In any case, we recommend booking early to ensure that you receive your desired appointment time.

The general rule for visiting galleries at present is: only after booking an appointment and with a daily negative COVID 19 test (not a self-test, but from an official test station, not older than 24 hours). Please wear an FFP2 mask at all times and adhere to the distance and hygiene rules.

Gallery Weekend galleries are required to present their current exhibitions for at least 6 weeks. Some of them have already extended the exhibition period until the end of August this year. So there will still be enough time after Gallery Weekend to see art in Berlin’s galleries, to enjoy it and, if you like it, to buy it.

ART@Berlin wishes you lots of joy and inspiration with art in Berlin.
